Join The Taos Merchant group for its monthly meeting on January 15th at 5:30pm at The Bent Street Grille.
Items on the agenda include:
Jessie Hook, Taos Destination Stewardship Network Manager, will be joining us to talk about the Taos SEED grant program.
Taos SEED (Sustainable Experience & Entrepreneur Development) is a Destination Stewardship Pilot Initiative programmed with UNM Taos HIVE, the SBDC, and Taos County Economic Development to build tourism innovation in Taos County. This pilot program supports local tourism ideas that celebrate culture, protect the environment, and benefit our community, offering seed funding, business support, networking opportunities, and promotional visibility. Learn more at https://www.taosmainstreet.org/seed and bring your questions to the meeting. The deadline for nominations is January 21, 2026.
We're looking forward to a fresh start this year with a new Mayor and council members. Several members had a meeting yesterday with the Mayor to revisit the parking issue and will provide a summary on Thursday.
Julie Lake with Lake Object will be providing information on updating your business listing on the Taos.org website.
The Hybrid Parking plan is a proposed compromise between merchants, the community, and the Town. It aims to balance the Town's need for revenue generation with the merchants' desire for turnover and ease of access to on-street locations.
On-Street Parking
• Free for 2 hours
• Strictly enforced time limits
• No kiosks or apps required
Surrounding Parking Lots
